PARMA, Ohio -- Earlier this week -- and without prior notice -- Acme Fresh Market closed its Pleasant Valley Shopping Center store in Parma.
“I was disappointed that Acme decided to close their Parma store with only a day’s notice to their employees and to the public,” Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter said. “The grocery store was supported by many Parma residents.
“I get that it’s a business decision by Acme to close, but the rollout of the announcement to their employees and shoppers couldn’t come at a worse time during the holidays.”
Parma Building, Planning and Zoning Coordinator Melissa Morrow said the Acme Fresh Market has roughly 67,000 square feet.
This was the Akron-based company’s only Cuyahoga County location.
The store’s pharmacy will continue operating through Dec. 15 -- 9 a.m. to
