NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- The city earlier this year purchased the 16-acre Pine Intermediate School ($1.1 million), the 13-acre Chestnut Intermediate School ($1.55 million) and the 7-acre Maple Intermediate School ($680,000) from North Olmsted City Schools.
While the district won’t be vacating the buildings until the anticipated 2027 opening of its currently under-construction 183,000-square-foot PreK-5 building located on a roughly 20-acre site north of the existing Birch Primary School along Lorain Road, the city isn’t wasting any time planning for the future of the closed elementary school properties.
“There’s a piece of legislation pending before City Council right now that would allow us to engage in site planning work,” North Olmsted Director of Economic and Community Development Max
