CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after a person was found shot to death in northwest Charlotte on Thursday morning.

The victim was found along Tuckaseegee Road, near the intersection with Browns Avenue and the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said it responded to a call for assistance to Medic a few minutes after 8 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the area and have been collecting evidence and searching for any potential witnesses. No arrests have been made at this time and CMPD hasn't identified a suspect in the case.
