Aston Villa have joined Crystal Palace in their pursuit of Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande.
That’s according to Portuguese newspaper Leonino who claim Villa have the centre back ‘on their radar’ and that they could potentially move even as early as next month.
They describe the 22-year-old as ‘one of the most valuable assets’, one who has been pursued by Villa’s Premier League rivals Palace.
Sporting are claimed to be reluctant to part with the Ivory Coast international who joined them from Midtjylland in 2023 and are trying to renegotiate a contract that runs until 2027. It is said the Primeira Liga outfit are willing to up his wage and extend to 2030, but retain the release clause of €80million.
