CJ Carr is just getting started at Notre Dame and he’s already receiving significant recognition for his play.
The redshirt freshman quarterback has shown flashes of being a superstar at the position and now his performance this season has earned him a spot among the country’s top young standouts.
Carr was recently named one of the five finalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award, given annually to the top freshman in college football.
The Saline native is joined by Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, North Texas quarterback Drew Mestemaker, Miami receiever Malachi Toney and Alabama cornerback Dijon Lee Jr.
Carr has been lights out for the Fighting Irish as he has completed 195 passes for 2,741 yards and 24 touchdowns to six interceptions.
