The roundabout was directly addressed Tuesday night at the Morristown City Council meeting.

At a workshop after the regular meeting, the Council listened to concerns from residents who live north of the roundabout about being constructed at the intersection of Cherokee Drive and Walters Drive.

Residents on the north and west sides of the intersection are subject to a detour for the next four months while the construction is underway.

Many of the speakers took issue with the detour and the idea of a roundabout.

Morristown Mayor Gary Chesney laid out the reasons for the roundabout.
