A vital community support project which has helped fund more than £65,000 worth of Christmas gifts for kids in the past few years is hoping to support families across the community in 2025. ‌

And backing is being sought for this year’s appeal. ‌

The Gift Giving Tree project involves organisations and businesses teaming up to help deliver much-needed Christmas joy to kids across North Ayrshire. ‌

Carol Boyd helped set up the project when she was working in a Kilwinning church eight years ago.

She said: “I was working as a Community Development Worker and the local school approached us and said they handed us 25 kids who were not receiving gifts that year.

"I came up with the idea of a gift-giving tree and through the kindness of the congregation of Mansefield Trinity
