SPRING MILLS — Jet the therapy dog has called Spring Mills High School home for over three years. After he sustained a recent injury, the school community is coming together to raise money for a needed procedure. Jet is one of the first 10 dogs in the Friends With Paws program, a partnership between the West Virginia Governor’s Office, Communities in Schools and the West Virginia Department of Education to place therapy dogs in schools to help students and create a better school environment.
After work every day, Jet goes home with Spring Mill High School teacher Karla Hilliard. Her family owns a house with a big yard that gives Jet plenty of space to run around and play when he isn’t busy helping students.
