Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday highlighted Meghalaya’s challenges and opportunities, noting that half of the state’s 38 lakh residents are under the age of 20.
“This young population is both a tremendous opportunity and a significant challenge. They can either transform our state or, if neglected, become a destructive force,” Sangma said at a special function to release the Platinum Jubilee Souvenir of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Tura in West Garo Hills district.
He explained that the government has focused on nurturing youth through guidance, opportunities, and values-based education.
