In hopes of securing approval for a $1 billion acquisition, national wireless carrier AT&T says it’s ending all of its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. The decision was revealed in a letter submitted by the telecommunications giant to the Federal Communications Commission, according to Reuters.
Under President Donald Trump, the FCC began ordering telecom companies to end DEI programs in order for transactions to be approved. As part of the letter sent Monday, AT&T revealed it “does not and will not have any roles focused on DEI.”
