DULUTH — A man wanted in Atlanta for at least two homicides and an armed carjacking was arrested Wednesday in Duluth.

The Duluth Police Department said officers took Kmauri Burnett, 20, into custody while executing a search warrant on the 2000 block of West Second Street.

Burnett is on the Atlanta Police Department’s “Most Wanted” list for two counts of murder and hijacking by motor vehicle.

According to Atlanta police, the carjacking was reported on the night of Jan. 7, 2021. A man had left his car running while picking up food; Burnett, then 15, allegedly entered the vehicle and started to drive off. The victim attempted to stop him, but was threatened with a handgun.
