Michigan deer hunters harvested about 7,000 fewer deer during the state's regular firearm season than during 2024, according to the Department of Natural Resources' online reporting page.

As of Dec. 4, online statistics show hunters claimed 129,506 deer during the season, down from 136,524 the previous year.

Hunters took 154,000 deer in 2022 and the figure has dropped each year since.
