Bernard Ment’s life shared many of the same qualities as the characters in the movies he loved to watch.
He always found his way and never quit no matter what life threw at him.
Ment, known as Bernie, was an actor, reviewed movies, worked in politics and retail, drove a cab, sold antiques, was a notary, owned his own business, delivered newspapers, and even appeared locally as a Jedi Master.
He passed away on Sunday, October 19, at the age of 61.
Ment was born on March 23, 1964, and was adopted by Willie and Karoline Ment, refugees from Nazi Germany who settled in Syracuse in the 1940s. They became American citizens in 1957 and lived in the University area before moving to the Bradford Hills area near Nottingham High School, where Bernard went to school.
