CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb announced a 30-day extension to the moratorium on utility disconnects ahead of a harsh cold snap.
Bibb first issued the moratorium during the government shutdown back in November.

According to the release, the extension comes as families continue to face financial strain following the end of the shutdown and amid increased holiday season expenses.
Bibb partnered with the Department of Public Utilities to ensure Cleveland Water and Cleveland Public Power customers will not face service interruptions due to unpaid bills, effective Friday, Nov. 7, through Jan. 6.
