Patna, Dec 4: The Muzaffarpur Railway Police cracked a major child-lifting racket on Thursday, arresting six people — including three women — and safely rescuing a kidnapped boy. The alleged mastermind, a doctor, remains absconding, and multiple police teams are searching for him.

Railway SP Veena Kumari said the case began on October 3, 2025, when Sumit Kumar, who was sleeping with his family on Platform 1 of Hajipur Railway Station, discovered his young son missing the next morning. After a frantic but unsuccessful search, Sumit filed a written complaint, prompting the formation of an SIT.
