BETHPAGE, Long Island (WABC) -- A man and woman were killed and one person is in custody after a double stabbing at a deli in Bethpage on Thursday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call just after 9 a.m. at the A & A Italian Deli & Pizza on Hicksville Road.

Witnesses told Eyewitness News that the victims were an elderly couple who ran the deli, which has been in business for more than three decades.

A witness told police that one of the couple's sons was inside the deli and stabbed the victims.

"This is the worst thing that ever happened to me in my lifetime and I'm 97 years old," said witness Joe Boros.

Boros said the couple's son showed no emotion and admitted to the alleged crime.

"I just saw the son walking out and he said 'I just stabbed my parents,' and that was it," Boros
