Thundering Surf Water Park & Adventure Golf , a Jersey Shore summer staple for nearly 50 years, was recently sold to the owners of the neighboring Fantasy Island Amusement Park .

Fantasy Island is owned by the Wainwright family.

The sale marks the end of an era for the Mesanko family, who have owned and operated the beloved Thundering Surf water park since the 1970s.

The acquisition unites two major family-friendly attractions on Long Beach Island.
