BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — New information regarding the deadly shooting of a man by Bartow County deputies on Monday night was shared by the sheriff's office on Wednesday.
Deputies said that they, alongside the State Fire Marshal's Office, were serving a search warrant at the home of 39-year-old Dylan Rice at 229 GA-20 Spur in Cartersville on Monday afternoon before gunfire broke out.
Rice was identified as a person of interest in a deadly Thanksgiving night fire that killed 69-year-old Lynda Miller, the sheriff's office said.
GBI officials said that Rice refused to leave the home when law enforcement arrived and flashbangs were deployed into the house.
After the flashbangs were deployed, Rice went out his back door with what the GBI said appeared to be a shotgun or rifle. Deputies tried
