ATLANTA — Federal and local authorities seized more than 1,500 pounds of crystal methamphetamine Friday night in coordinated operations in Atlanta and Hall County, according to the FBI’s Atlanta office.

Investigators executed a series of search warrants Nov. 21, uncovering a total of 719 kilos -- which amounts to roughly 1,585 pounds -- of meth hidden in two separate refrigerated trucks, officials said.

In Atlanta, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, assisted by the FBI and other law enforcement partners, searched a home on Custer Avenue SE. Outside the house, officers found a refrigerated truck containing 419 kilos of meth concealed inside a shipment of blackberries, authorities said.
