To better serve its residents, West Perth has hopped on board a new transit route that could begin as early as this spring.
At council’s Dec. 1 meeting, the municipality voted to commit $155,000 annually over the next three years to join a partnership with the City of Stratford, the Town of St. Marys and the Municipality of North Perth to establish a new transit route connecting Listowel, Mitchell and Stratford.

This new route would potentially start in Stratford and run to Mitchell and Listowel, with potential stops in Sebringville, Monkton and Atwood. There could be four round-trip daily runs — two in the morning and two in the afternoon — Monday through Saturday.
