The Alberta Court of Justice in Whitecourt held a preliminary inquiry for the case this week, running from Dec. 1 to 3. Article content

The inquiry had been scheduled by the court earlier this year, during its May 13 sitting .

The purpose of preliminary inquiries is to determine if there is enough evidence to hold a trial; although preliminary inquiries are not trials, they may involve witnesses and cross-examinations.

Jackson appeared before the court on Dec. 1.

Crown counsel Kerri Malcolm successfully requested a publication ban on any evidence discussed at the inquiry. Jackson
