A safety volunteer has been charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting a man taking part in a “No Kings” protest in Salt Lake City in Utah, in June. The accused, Matthew Alder, fatally shot Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a rally participant, while firing at another man he believed to be a potential mass shooter.

According to prosecutors, Alder fired three shots — one hitting a man who had been seen assembling an AR-15 rifle near the crowd and a third inadvertently killing Ah Loo.
