Three Massachusetts police officers took on the added role of delivery drivers after finding packages abandoned in the streets in Billerica.

Billerica police said Officer Samuel Hawkes found eight Amazon packages in the middle of the road behind the Towne Plaza last week, on Tuesday night around 8 p.m. He and fellow Officer Matthew Irwin noticed they were all meant for recipients in Billerica, so they made the deliveries.

Then, on Dec. 2, Officer Thomas Huff noticed more Amazon packages scattered on the ground near the 129 Plaza on Salem Road around 1:15 a.m. Again, the packages were delivered to the intended recipients.
