A Sunderland Metro station is looking as good as new after it was spruced up and repainted red and white in honour of SAFC. The Stadium of Light Metro station has had a makeover, with the famous red and white stripes back to looking their very best.
The Metro station, which is close to the home of the Black Cats on the banks of the River Wear , has been refreshed and repainted. Metro operator Nexus carried out the work as part of an ongoing station improvement programme across the Metro system.
The vitreous enamel panels were rubbed down before fresh red and white paint was carefully applied by hand, making them look as good as new. The Sunderland AFC badges have been re-added where they had partially flaked away.
