The Prince and Princess of Wales made a bold gesture which gave great insight into their relationship, a body language expert has claimed. Prince William and Princess Catherine had a prominent role in welcoming the President of Germany , Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Budenbender at the start of their historic state visit to the UK on Wednesday.

The royal couple performed their customary duty of meeting the couple at Heathrow Airport in the morning, and escorting them by car to a dais on their eight-mile journey to Datchet Road in Windsor's town centre. After the official welcome in Windsor, the royal party hosted a lavish state banquet in the castle to honour their German guests.
