A woman has been charged with murder after a newborn baby was allegedly thrown from the eleventh floor of a block of flats. Police accuse the woman, who they have only identified using her surname, Xia, of killing her son because she was upset after breaking up with her boyfriend.
The 22-year-old delivered her baby at home in Taichung City, Taiwan , at 3am on November 28 last year, according to local police. She reportedly wrapped him in a blanket before allegedly throwing him out of a window "in a fit of anger".
