The streaming wars have a new entrant.
Versant , the cable-heavy company slated to be spun off early next year from NBCUniversal, plans to introduce a new streaming outlet tied to MS NOW in the middle of 2026 and will also work to expand its Fandango streaming hub into an ad-supported service. Executives detailed the company’s plans to investors at a Thursday meeting in New York City.
Versant expects to generate half of its revenue from traditional pay TV and half from a series of new ventures that will also include expansion of products at CNBC and the acquisition of assets that will bolster Fandango’s operations. In all, Versant executives said they expect the company to generate $6.6 billion in 2025 revenue, while holding $3 billion in debt and $750 million in cash.
