PARK COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is asking for help identifying a man found dead in 2024.
According to CBI, The Park County Sheriff’s Office received a report of potential human remains on May 28, 2024, at 12:24 p.m.
Investigators said the remains were found in a remote camping area outside of Bailey on United States Forest Service (USFS) land. A botanist estimated the remains had been in the area since 2022 or 2023.
CBI said the person found dead was male, likely eastern European, between 30 and 60 years old, estimated between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 foot 8 inches tall.
Recent investigative genetic genealogy indicated that the man, often referred to as “John Doe,” has Slovakian DNA. Investigators now believe John Doe may have relatives in Pueblo, O
