SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The University of Rhode Island men tipped off this rivalry week with something they haven’t done in seven years.

That was scoring a defeat over Brown, now their most common opponent after more than a century of competition on the hardwood.

The Rams did just enough on the glass in the second half and let their defense take over to send the Bears into hibernation. URI grinded to a 66-56 victory at the Ryan Center, prevailing for the first time against Brown since November 2018.
