The federal government has removed several thousand commercial driver’s license training programs from its registry for alleged noncompliance with federal standards, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced on Monday.
The list of companies removed includes about 40 providers in Massachusetts from all corners of the state, from Weston to Williamstown.
The federal Transportation Department also said an additional 4,500 providers could be noncompliant and have 30 days to submit more information.
In total, about 45% of providers across the nation were either flagged or removed from the list.
“If you are unwilling to follow the rules, you have no place training America’s commercial drivers,” Derek D. Barrs, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration administrator, said in a
