Today, Dec. 4, is National Cookie Day.
Cookie shops have surged in popularity in recent years with chains like Crumbl, which opened in 2017 and built a following with rotating weekly flavors. Insomnia Cookie began more than a decade earlier in 2003 and has since expanded nationwide.
Both chains have Northern Nevada locations and are offering deals for the food holiday. Other stores are also rolling out specials.
Here's a look at where Renoites can find cookie deals on National Cookie Day.
What is National Cookie Day?
The national food holiday was created by "Sesame Street" back in 1976. However, back then, the holiday was on Nov. 26, according to the National Day Calendar , and Cookie Monster promoted the special day in the 1980 book “The Sesame Street Dictionary.”
