Planning officials have granted permission for the construction of 61 flats and 26 homes on the former site of Alderstone Business Park.

The area, which is located on Macmillan Road, Livingston , will be transformed by Dundas Estates & Development Co Ltd after West Lothian Council gave the green light to the proposals on December 1.

As well as a new scheme being constructed, a 97sqm commercial/community building with associated drainage, landscaping and infrastructure will also be found on site.

The council states the site formerly contained nine brick built, two-storey business units which were constructed in the 1990s under Livingston Development Corporation.

They added the units became vacant as a result of a lack of interest in the properties and were subject to vandalism.
