PERRY COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) - The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community of scam calls claiming to be law enforcement.

Officials say multiple people have reported they received phone calls from someone saying they were with the PCSO.

They say the callers tell people names of sheriff office’s employees and mention either warrants or court proceedings.

According to the post made by authorities, the scam callers may use a blocked number or a false correct number from the sheriff’s office.

They are telling people to not give any information over the phone, but if you do or want to verify that you were contacted by the sheriff’s office, officials ask you call Tell City Dispatch at (812) 547-7068 to make a report.
