JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ga. — More than four years after 7-month-old Micah Taylor died in his mother’s care , Dakota Taylor’s second infant son would meet the same fate, finally prompting law enforcement to take action in both cases.
Eight-month-old Caleb Taylor died Jan. 8, 2025, after his mother brought him to a relative’s home in Jefferson County.
Dakota Taylor now faces murder charges in both deaths.
“We can’t have peace until they get justice,” said Laura Taylor, the boys’ grandmother.

On Jan. 8, 2025, Jefferson County deputies responded to a call about an unresponsive infant. Dakota had brought 8-month-old Caleb to Laura Taylor’s house around 8 p.m.
