A major restaurant chain says it’s opening new locations after closing nearly 150 over the past year.
Denny’s announced last year it would close 150 underperforming diners by the end of 2025. The company said Thursday the majority of those closures have already occurred as Denny’s recently headlines again with a $620 million buyout.
“Recent media reports about Denny’s restaurant closures as a result of recent acquisition news are completely false,” Denny’s said in a statement. “Denny’s currently has more than 1,300 restaurants in the U.S. and almost 1,500 restaurants worldwide and continues to open new restaurants.”
Denny’s did not specify where the new locations will open or when.
Denny’s website currently lists 28 restaurants in New York state, including diners in Binghamton, Buffa
