Denny’s is downsizing, and store closures are expected by the end of this year.

The nationwide diner chain previously announced in October 2024 it would be closing 150 restaurants across the country by the end of 2025.

Now that December 2025 is here, the restaurant has followed through on its statement.

The closings come as the brand is looking to make some changes , such as improving cash flow, decreasing its footprint, cutting back on its 24/7 hours and downsizing its menu.

The closings are also taking place after Denny’s recently went under private ownership in a $620 million deal . However, the closings were already set in motion before the deal occurred.
