LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The sounds of clanking metal and heavy machinery on the move make it seem like a normal day at Rusty Rooster Recycling on Grade Lane.

But every time a UPS jet flies over, it becomes apparent that the third-generation family business is going through some changes.

“Every time that happens, it kind of makes you feel a little bit different than you did before,” second-generation owner Tom Brooks Jr. said as he watched a UPS jet fly by. “It just sort of gives you a brief flashback of what we seen that day on November 4. Just fear--panic and fear. Never experienced anything like it before.”

All day long, sometimes multiple times an hour, a UPS flight thunders overhead, stirring painful memories for Tom Brooks and his employees.
