GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WLOX) - A Gulfport Police sergeant was arrested in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, according to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) jail docket.

The docket says 33-year-old Joseph Prine, Jr. was arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 3.

Prine’s charges are listed as driving under the influence, violation of open container laws, and carrying a weapon while under the influence.

A source says Prine was in Tennessee for training and was driving his patrol car at the time of his arrest.

WLOX News reached out to Gulfport Police Department for comment. GPD has not confirmed that Prine was in Tennessee for training, but according to the City of Gatlinburg, Appalachia HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) Training is taking place December 2-4 at the
