The Clairton High School football team is bringing a state championship home to western Pennsylvania for the fifth time in school history.

The Bears claimed the PIAA title with a dominant 35-3 win over defending champion Bishop Guilfoyle in the Class 1A final on Thursday afternoon at Cumberland Valley High School's Chapman Field.

It’s the first state championship for Clairton (15-1) since the Bears won four in a row from 2009 to 2012.

The Marauders (13-3) were seeking back-to-back titles after defeating Port Allegany in the 2024 championship game.
