The M8 near Glasgow Airport has been closed westbound due to a police incident. The busy motorway was closed around 8.50pm on Thursday, December 4, due to the incident.

Drivers have been urged to find an alternative route due to the closure. The exact nature of the incident, between Junction 29 and 29a, has not been confirmed.

The eastbound carriageway is open as usual.

Traffic Scotland posted to X: "M8 Junction 29-29a. The M8 is CLOSED WESTBOUND due to a police incident.

"Drivers should use an alternative route at this time. The eastbound carriageway remains open."

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
