The demand for services – food, holiday treats, advice – has never been greater in Saugeen Shores but backed by this community’s giving nature, a community worker is confident no family in need will be left out this holiday season.

Alice Wannan, Salvation Army Community and Family Services manager, said the “unique generosity” of Saugeen Shores residents and businesses will help fill the ever-growing need for the basics.

“Just look at the recent emergency responders’ food/toy drive – what a success that will make a very real difference to a lot of local families this holiday season,” Wannan said in a Dec. 3 telephone interview.
