CHICAGO (WLS) -- An Illinois man pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping earlier this week in federal court.
Devontay Shields was arrested at Chicago's Union Station last year.

He was accused of planning to travel to Florida to kidnap a child and hold them for ransom.
In court Monday, he pleaded guilty, and will be back in court for an in-person sentencing hearing on Feb. 23.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment.
A text message allegedly sent by Shields laid out a plan to take a boy from a school by luring him with candy and toys.
Prosecutors said Shields had purchased children's toys and zip ties and had those items when he was arrested.
