A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery in Mississauga on Thursday morning.

Peel Regional Police say three Asian males in a black Jeep Wrangler targeted a couple in a black Cadillac Escalade in the area of Derry Rd. and Cardiff Blvd. around 11 a.m.

“The victim that was shot, along with an adult female, were on board the black Cadillac Escalade, at which point a confrontation occurred between three individuals,” Const. Tyler Bell-Morena told reporters at the scene.

“That confrontation fled on foot just a little bit west of here in the adjacent parking lot where a physical confrontation happened between the suspects and the victim where he was shot.”

Bell-Morena said the victims were in the area for business reasons.
