DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The last full supermoon of 2025 is upon us, and the weather will cooperate for its viewing....sort of.
The sky will be primarily clear through this evening, minus a few thin high clouds as midnight approaches. However, the lack of wind, the depth of cold and enough low level moisture will lead to areas of freezing fog later on. In areas that pick up the fog, travel will be slippery, especially on bridges and overpasses. It will also shroud the full supermoon. So, if you don't mind the cold, a trip outdoors for 2025's last full/supermoon, named the Cold Moon, may be worth it.
This supermoon will be about 7% larger than a typical full moon and up to 30% brighter. 2026 supermoons will occur in January, November and December.
Stay warm, and stay weather-aware.
