The New York Times considers a minimalistic Minneapolis boutique among the top U.S. clothing stores.

Equipment in Northeast Minneapolis recently made the NYT's 50 Best Clothing Stores in America list, billed as a collection of "distinctive and inspirational" stores, most of which are independent small businesses.

Equipment is singled out for its "clothes that whisper good taste," including an array of European and Japanese brands, such as Studio Nicholson, A Kind of Guise and Mfpen. Many of the items lean unisex.
