A British man accused of aggravated manslaughter for allegedly crashing into another vehicle while fleeing police in Gloucester County will remain jailed until trial, a judge ruled Thursday.

George Linard , 24, was driving at 86 mph in a 30 mph zone, ignored a police officer’s efforts to pull him over and disregarded a red light before the Nov. 9 crash in West Deptford Township, police said.

Jose M. Martinez , 42, of Lindenwold, was killed in the wreck.

Linard appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his arrest, police said.

A judge found that Linard posed a “serious danger” if released and ordered him detained following a detention hearing.
