SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Discussions about adopting a moratorium on lithium-ion battery facilities will wait until the new Town Board is sworn in for 2026.
Questions about the need for a review of zoning have arisen as officials are getting inquiries about building large-scale electricity storage similar to the 350-megawatt, 12-acre Terra-Gen proposal in the town of Ulster come on portions of either a 45.3-acre or a 59.8-acre property off Tomsons Road, town Supervisor Fred Costello said during a Tuesday, Dec. 2, phone interview.
