Frank Daggs no longer will be the football coach at McDonogh 35 after he spent 23 seasons at the school, the last six as head coach, he said Thursday.
Daggs declined to say whether he resigned or was fired from his coaching position, but he acknowledged that “all my kids are disappointed, the parents are disappointed. The fact that I’ve been there so long, worked my way up through the ranks as an assistant coach, a coordinator, a head coach. We won a state championship in track (in 2012), a runner-up in track.”
Daggs coached McDonogh 35 to the playoffs in all six seasons as head coach, reaching the quarterfinals in the Division II select playoffs in 2023. The Roneagles went 38-24 and won multiple district championships during his tenure.
