A 34-year-old man is facing burglary charges after he was shot by a resident of a Susquehanna Township home he entered over the weekend, police said in court documents.
Anthony Deimler, of Harrisburg, was charged with two felony counts of burglary and loitering and prowling at night, according to charging documents filed by township police.
Police responded to a report that a burglar had entered a home on Mountainview Road around 10:50 p.m. Sunday and had been shot by an occupant of that house, the affidavit said.
At the scene, police found Deimler lying outside of the basement door with a gunshot wound to the torso, according to police. Deimler was transported to a hospital for emergency medical care and surgery.
Police said Deimler told them he walked to the residence from Harrisburg
