Teams that play in the Texas high school football playoffs in December can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The chance to play at Arlington's AT&T Stadium for a state championship the week before Christmas is close, just a few wins away.

Two Corpus Christi-area squads find themselves in the regional finals this week: Sinton in Class 4A Division II and Refugio in Class 2A Division I.

Both are playing familiar opponents. Sinton takes on district rival Cuero, which won a 56-55 game during the regular season against the Pirates. Refugio meets old rival Mason, a school they have met often in the last decade-plus.

Both games are available to watch and listen to live on the NFHS Network.

You can also follow reporters Quinton Martinez and Rey Castillo for updates for both games.
